Daru Foday Ba, Darsilami Highway Cutaway, MP Calls on NRA for renovation

The highway from Daru Foday Ba to Darsilami over the weekend cutaway from traffic as the main culvert was damaged by runoff water from the swampy area.  This has stops transportation services as vehicle cannot use the highway.

Salifu Jawo, National Assembly Member for Jokadou who visited the damaged culvert on Sunday called on National Road Authority (NRA) to urgently assist repair the road connecting from Kuntair to Kerewan to enhance movement of people, goods and services.

He urged drivers and passengers to cooperate with the traffic police officers to save lives and properties, while he commended   the police high command in the region for deployment of officers to control traffic. He said the police action has demonstrated their commitment toward protection of lives and properties.

RSM Ousman Samba, Kerewan Police Station in North Bank Region described the damaged of the culvert as a serious concern to traffic.

NBR Police Commissioner Momodou Sowe said officers were deployed to the area to help control traffic and to ensure safe passage of people. He therefore called drivers and commuters to cooperate with police officers at all time.

He described the damage as natural disaster and also cautioned drivers to avoid taking risk to cross the cutaway with vehicles while encouraged everyone to be patient.

Musa Bah, a truck driver plying on the road said the condition call for immediate action as it is unsafe and reiterated the need for prompt action by the authority to fix the affected areas.
