Health front liners will today meet the Minister of Health, Dr Ahmadou Samateh, his team, and Team of Covid-19 Response program to proffer solutions to end the rise in virus cases in the country.
The meeting will come amid a spike in the number of recorded coronavirus cases in the country that has infected many health workers.
“Right now what we are planning is to have a meeting with the heads of the response program together with the Minister of Health and his team so that we see what best can be done for effective program because lots of colleagues are going down,” a member of the health workers told The Voice in an exclusive interview.
He however lamented of inadequate of enough personal protective equipment (PPE) for health workers. He noted that many of the health workers who contracted the disease were not designated as frontline workers.
The health worker said: “Health workers are expose seriously, there is no sort of heal like protection, so that makes lot of the health workers to contract the virus and that is why lot of us are down.”
“A number of people affected in our hospitals – many of them were not in protective gears [and] the reason being one of them is that they are appointed as front liners,” the health worker added.
