Mayor Lowe donates health materials to Banjul Sanatorium

Mayor Rohey Malick Lowe has handed over some health materials to Banjul Sanatorium where Covid-19 patients are currently undergoing treatment. The donated items aimed to accelerate the quality and efficient service delivery at the centre.

The health materials included wheelchairs, crutches, bed sheets, pillow cases among others.

Mayor Lowe is one of The Gambia’s Mayors who has been very active and keen in fight against the coronavirus pandemic in the country.

A statement dispatched to The Voice by the council read “Banjul City Council under the leadership of Her Worship, Mayor Rohey Malick Lowe handed over to the Sanatorium (Where COVID-19 patients are housed) in Banjul, some hospital materials (Wheel chairs, crutches, bed sheets, pillow cases and so on) to accelerate the quality and efficient service delivery at the centre,” the council said in a statement.

More than 2,000 people have been infected by coronavirus in The Gambia and it has already killed 87 people since its outbreak in March 2020.

President Adama Barrow has sought help from his Senegalese counterpart, Macky Sall, which showed three Senegalese health professionals’ presence in the country over the weekend, to help the country fight coronavirus pandemic.
