Lamin Ceesay, former chief driver of Gambia Committee on Harmful Traditional Practice has died on Monday, his family sources confirmed to The Voice.
Tribute has been pouring in for him from his friends, family and love ones as well as some of his former work colleague who described him as a humble and God-fearing man.
Late Mr Ceesay was until his death a qualified auto mechanic in Bakau. He was recently randomly dismissed at Gamcotrap along with some of his colleagues with no genuine reasons.
Speaking to one of his nephews, Lamin Fatty, eulogised his late uncle as someone who had dedicated his life in caring and sharing with people and was committed to the welfare of his family and others.
“Mr Ceesay was generous, respectful and devoted his life to the development of all. He never had confrontation with any person rather he always wants to build good relationship with people, especially his neighbours and family,” he said while paying tribute to his uncle.
“He loves his family and always working harder to ensure the wellbeing of his family,” he added.
Fatou Bojang who was sacked with the late Mr Ceesay at Gamcotrap, said: “Lamin Ceesay does not want to have problem with anyone and anything that person request from him, he will try to get it for you whether cash or kind.”
“We pray that almighty Allah grant his soul in heaven and protect his family from all worldly confront.”
