Farefenni-based group dubbed ‘Chaku Back Home Sisters ‘has donated 500 face masks and D10,000 to Farafenni General Hospital to help curb the spread of coronavirus.
Speaking at the ceremony, Famara Sillah, the hospital administrator described the group’s support as “good aim to enhance quality care services.”
He said the management is very much committed to the fight against COVID-19 while they are calling for concerted efforts of all stakeholders to support the hospital. This hospital he noted “is the main referral points for most health facilities and people from border villages in Senegal.”
Principal Nursing Officer (PNO) Lamin Bondi and the Public Relation Officer Sainey Dibba both echoed similar sentiment and assured full utilisation of donated materials.
For her part, Ndey Njie Gaye, member of Chaku Back Home Sisters said this is the third time the group is supporting the hospital, citing the initiative package of sundry materials worth D50,000 for proper upkeep of maternity ward and supply of hand washing stations including detergents.
Fatou Bah Secretary of Chaku Back Home Sisters described the partnership with the hospital management as fruitful. She added that the initiative is part of their COVID-19’s respond to the hospital.
She said: “Protecting staff and workers against coronavirus would help to strengthen health care service delivery.”
On behalf of Haddy Barrow Saine and partners in UK they donated three trolleys to the hospital in memory of M S Jallow, her foster father. The presentation was graced by Senior Management Team of the hospital.
