A police CID, IPO Amadou Sanyang, has received foodstuff including 3 Bags of rice, 3 Bags of onions, 2 Gallons of 20L cooking oil and cash amount of D10, 000 from Sulayman Cham. A man whom he helped to recover his stolen smartphone which worth 1,400 dollars.
“The Inspector General of Police Alhagie Mamour Jobe received in his office Mr Sulayman Cham, Assistant System Analyst at the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education.
“The visit came following a ground-breaking investigation that led to the recovery of Mr Cham’s $1400 smartphone which contains virtually all information useful for his work, after it was stolen from his vehicle.”
“In recognition of the professionalism and diligence of IPO Amadou Sanyang of the Bakoteh CID, Mr Cham presented 3 Bags of rice, 3 Bags of onions, 2 Gallons of 20L cooking oil and cash amount of D10, 000 to the gallant officer through the IGP’s office,” police said in a statement
Meanwhile, the statement added that Mr Cham expressed delight for been given opportunity to show his gratitude to a job well done by the Police. He also explained that the gesture is to serve as inspiration and motivation for people to promote the positive endeavours of the police as there are many success stories similar to his own experience which are hardly mentioned.
IGP Jobe on his part expressed profound appreciation for the kind gesture and commended Mr Cham for coming forward. He called on other members of the public to emulate the likes of Mr Cham.
He took the honor to surprisingly announce the promotion of the IPO Amadou Sanyang from First Class Constable to the rank of Corporal.
The Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mr Louis Moses Mendy attended the presentation.
