The districts authorities of Central Badibou have appealed to government of The Gambia to construct inter roads network and also expand the electricity connections in their areas.
This call for expansion of electricity supply, quality water supply and good road’s appeal was launched in Njaba Kunda last Thursday by the Alkalolu of the areas. The places include from Njawara via Kerr Pateh to Minteh Kunda as the poor roads condition affects health care service delivery and other economic development.
The appealed by Chief Alagie Jagne was launched during a district authority meeting with Governor Lamin Saidykhan in Njaba.
According to Chief Jagne poor road networks has affected economic and social activities. He hailed President Adama Barrow government for providing quality fertilizer at affordable prices for farmers. While Central Badibou chief used the moment to remind farmers to carry out proper drying of groundnut to seed quality and avoid aflatoxin.
Alkalo Junkung Dibba of Salikene expressed concerned on poor condition of feeder road from Banni via Salikene to Njaba Kunda. Aja Mambuso Njie women leader of Kerr Pateh thanks government for maintaining security along the border line.
She therefore called for expansion of rural electrification to communities along the border line to boost economic and job creation.
Alagie Saho, alkalo of Nawleru said construction of inter village road networks would enhance quality health care services and improve livelihood development. Farmers has also expressed the needs for government to provide better price and start groundnut trade season earlier to address COVID-19 recovery.
For his part Governor Lamin Saidykhan called on people to be law abiding. He assured them of government commitment to the welfare of people while he said all issues raised will be tabled before the relevant authorities and institutions.
