Security forces in Barra have reiterated their commitment to provide security and protection of communities as stipulated in the Constitution. The remarks were disclosed to Regional Governor and Technical Advisory Committee on tour to institutions to assess level of collaboration and know challenges confronting the operations.
DemboTrawally Deputy Police Commissioner at Barra Police Station thanks Governor Saidykhan for the foresight in visiting security forces, to gather first hand information on progress and constraints.
Deputy Police Commissioner Trawally has underscored total commitment by security forces to the maintenance of law and orders to boost security and safety of the population. He disclosed that inadequate office spaces and quarters for staff. He uses the opportunity to call on authority to construct standard structures that would accommodate all, Barra is very strategic location.
Commissioner AlmamyKinteh Drug Law Enforcement Agency expressed high level of collaboration among the security fraternity in complementing each other efforts. He call for increase man power would help in the fight against narcotics drugs.
BalaTouray Officer Commanding Barra Fire and Rescue Service noted that there is need for more fire engines and firefighting equipment and materials to respond to the need of the population. He reported Rescue Service at sea has speed boat that help to transport patients to Banjul for the health care needs and other emergency.
There is need to increase fuel allocation for operation speed boat, noting that ferry services is temporal on halt for a period of 30 days.
All the security chiefs calls for additional mobility, fuel and logistics to facilitate constant patrol along the borders. Constant security patrol and confidence building are carry out to boost up security and peace.
Governor LaminSaidykhan said his office attaches great importance to security and noted that government attaches great importance to national security and thanks security for their selfless sacrifice and commitment to maintaining peace and security.
