A renowned grand Marabou of Sukuta Kingston has blatantly dismissed reports that says President Adama Barrow give him D1 million.
Speaking to The Voice in an exclusive interview, Amadou Fanneh said: “this social media reports are false and totally rubbish.”
He said he knew President Barrow during 2016 Presidential Campaigns though after the election when President Barrow visited Sukuta he assured him of support.
“We had a meeting and during the meeting I said powerful things to him and that made him to consider me in any campaign to co-ordinate the meeting.”
He however said when President Barrow came to Sukuta he didn’t visit his (Amadou Fanneh) home despite being a loyal friend of the President, because he supports him for humanity and national development.
“When he [President Barrow] won the elections, he came to Sukuta the first compound he entered was Jerreh Mamad Cham compound, whose wife is a leader of UDP that was the time he visited my compound because he was told that, there is a place where we usually meet to pray for each other.”
“After winning the election h, he made a promise that he will visit people of Sukuta which he did at the Sukuta Junior School and the first person he greeted was our Alkalo and he hugged me and whispered words in my ears that are promising,” he said.
Meanwhile, Amadou Fanneh, the famous Marabou also warned Gambians to beware of deceptive politicians who are deceiving electorates with money to get their votes.
He advised Gambians to be honest and not to be allowed by anyone to use them to achieve their personal interest.
According to him, politics of deception and manipulations should be history in the country, saying that Gambians should go beyond dancing and clapping for their fellow Gambians who want to lead the nation.
“In the past when President is out for tour Gambians will come out in large numbers to welcome him, but now that is not happening due to act of betray people have experienced in the past,” he said.
“Gambians should be sensitized not to be dictated by any intellectual, they should understand that no one can manipulate them because politicians are not magicians or having supernatural powers,” he added.
He however accused President Barrow of betraying the nation, though he didn’t give any evidence.
He said: ‘’President Adama Barrow believes that if he use money, he will buy our votes, but not all will accept that because it is the individuals around him that are directing him’’
