Child Fund The Gambia has donated medical supplies including 20- feet containers of pharmaceuticals to the ministry of health and is meant for the treatment of sick children from 0-7.
Speaking at the ceremony, Musukuta Komma, Child Fund country director, said Child fund: “I am pleased that Child Fund can provide these medical supplies to equip our hospitals and health centers.”
She said that the promotion of quality care and treatments of illnesses especially childhood ones are a cause close to her heart as it constitutes one of the main objectives of Child Fund the Gambia’s country Strategic Plan.
“Over the past four months, Child fund The Gambia has actively and successfully supported the ministry of health to deliver affordable and timely care to the population during this time of COVID-19.
In July this year we delivered a 40-foot container and here we are donating another 20-foot container all of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies,” she said.
Komma pointed out that s there is a significant growth in office common vision to make sure that the country’s health sector is well stocked with medicines and equipment for accessible and quality health care delivery to all the children of the Gambia.
She expressed her gratitude in their genuine partnership with the ministry of health.
Modou Njai, director of health promotion, commended the Child Fund for providing the important drugs which are meant for the treatment of sick children.
“The ministry has put up a strategy called the integrated management of childhood and integrated community case management; these two strategic are going to be using this drug. These drugs have come at a time it is most needed,” he said.
