Yakumba’s Protracted Court Case Resumes after Setbacks

Yakumba Jaiteh, nominated National Assembly member, who is standing trail with her father Yusupha Jaiteh as co-accused resumed on Tuesday before presiding Magistrate, Isatou Janneh- Njie of the Kanifing Magistrate’s Court

The accused persons were charged two counts assaulting and obstructing of narcotics personnel in due execution of their duties.  Yakumba’s and her father denied any wrong doing.

Meanwhile, when the case resumed on Tuesday, the defense counsel continued with cross-examination of Ebrima Fadera, the victim of the alleged assault and obstruction by the accused persons.

It could be recalled that after appearing on the 10th of November, the case was adjourned to the 12th and also there was a setback, due to the presiding Magistrate, Isatou Janneh Njie absent.
