Alhagie S. Darboe, National Assembly Member for Brikama North has demanded clarification on the amount of money allocated to Brikama market for renovation.

Thirty million dalasis [D30, 000,000] is allocated for renovation of Brikama market as the supplementary budget allocates D10, 000,000 while the estimate budget for 2021 allocated 20,000,000.

“What is the fate of the D10, 000,000 (ten million) that was allocated in the supplementary for the renovation of the market. I could recall in the supplementary Basse was allocated D40, 000,000 (forty million dalasi) and in the budget, they are allocated D60, 000,000 (sixty million dalasis) making it hundred million while Brikama market should be D30, 000,000 (thirty million dalasis) if we add both the supplementary and the budget estimate 2021,” Darboe asked

“In the supplementary, there were certain road projects that were approved namely;  Brikama Mandinaring road and Brikama Kasakunda Gunjur road. I have not seen these roads capture in the Budget estimate 2021 and I want the minister to explain what is the fate of those roads that were reflected in the supplementary but not in budget estimate 2021 as some part of the money already been allocated,” he asked again.

According to him, through his observation is some of the road that is reflected in the supplementary again they are benefiting from the main budget.

However, Musa Amul Nayass NAM for Foni Kansala also sought clarity on the 2021 budget estimate of D20, 000, 00 allocated for renovation of Brikama Market.

He observed that is should be D3, 000,00 (thirty million dalasis) if the D10,000,000 (ten million dalasis) is added from the supplementary.
