Kabafita class of 093, “Badinya donate medical equipment to MoH

Kabafita Class of 093, a local charity organization in partnership with ‘Badinya’ has donated medical equipment worth of D9 million (£150,000) to support the ministry of health in fight against coronavirus and other ailments.

The presentation was held on Thursday at the Central Medical Store in Kotu.

Musa Saine, Senior Logistic Officer at the MOH commended the donor and described the gesture as a very magnificent donation to the ministry of health in the fight against Covid-19 and other disease.

Alieu Darboe, representative of Brikama area council explained that “we first started a local group call “Badinya” and the MoH and youths are aware of their existence and the support they have been given to the health facilities since 2008 out of which another gesture was born called Hon Alieu K Darboe foundation that is also a partner to Brikama hospital.”

He called on the Ministry to support youth organizations that are supporting health facilities across the country.

Fatou Samateh, senior health officer said they are grateful that citizens of the Gambia are taking it upon themselves to contribute what they can to compliment the efforts of the government towards the health needs of their fellow Gambians.

She therefore assured that the donation will go beyond Brikama.

Isatou Bah, chairperson of Class of 093 said: “this is their first project and they targeted Brikama hospital hence Kabafita is in Brikama.”

She said the materials worth equivalent to £150,000. 

Fatou Camara, Admin Brikama health district, expressed gratitude to the donors for their support. “Items like this will help us execute our duties better and we assure them that the presented items will be put into good use and will be properly take care”, she said.
