Raneru to Get Tar Road

Residents of Raneru were overwhelmed with joy as President Adama Barrow promised to construct their 8-kilometre road linking the community to Laminko – Passamas with gravel.

Raneru is located in Sami District, Central River Region north (CRR/n).

Speaking at a rally held in Reneru village, President Barrow stood before the residents of the village and said “I have good news for you (Raneru residents). I have discussed with my Minister (Construction and Works Minister) and he said we are going to construct the road with gravel in the meantime. Therefore, Raneru residents you have a good provision today.”

“The road I travelled through. I have seen it and I know that it is not good. I have seen it and I have travelled through it and I know all the difficulties of traveling through it. Even my four wheels had challenges along the road. I have realized the challenges you had with regard to this road, that’s why the moment I reached here. I called my minister and I told him these people are complaining about this road,” he opined.

He said his government has brought numerous developments to the doorstep of the district citing the construction of Laminkoto-Pasamass road as well as the 18-kilometer road linking Kalem Jawo-Bush Town.

He also said his government will launch electrification project for the district between next February and March 2021.

“I have the project and I have the money to launch the project,” he told the gathering. While urging them not to have doubt or fear anything regarding the electrification project because they would have it soon.

He later expressed gratitude to the people of Sami District for their loyalty to him. He said residents of the district had voted for him massively during the 2016 presidential election.

This came after the village residents vowed to boycott all national elections if government failed to bring development to their doorstep.
