Gambia Action Party’s press secretary Sheikhna Faal has said his party will oppose any attempt by President Adama Barrow to declare any countrywide lockdown without a convincing reason(s).
Mr Faal in an interview with this reporter said “We will not allow the President to introduce lockdown (if there is any) second wave of Covid-19 without a genuine reason. And Gambians should remember that president Barrow has little regard towards the people as far as Covid-19 is concern.”
“We all remember what he did when the situation was tense by neglecting the protocols set aside by health experts,” he added.
According to him, it will be a wrong decision to stop other political parties from organising a political campaign, emphasizing that in the name of introducing a lockdown again.
“As far as Gambia Action Party is concern, we will go about our political activities unless and until it is detrimental to the people’s lives. We believe that The Gambia and Gambians will always be our priority and we will protect everybody and avoid risking life’s as our party is for all.”
He sent message to the president saying “Gambians are expecting a lot from you President Adama Barrow fulfill your promises and provide every development as possible.”
He assured Gambians that “in coming 2021 elections GAP must win or be part of the Government by Allah’s Grace and that is certain and we mean, GAP will be a surprise package and many will not see it coming.”
