“President Adama Barrow, doesn’t deserve another five years, he doesn’t understand leadership but only want to be president’ and his government is a copy predecessor ex-President Yahya Jammeh,”said human rights lawyer and political activist
In an exclusive interview with The Voice newspaper on Tuesday, Assan Martin said: “I think we are seeing a total reputation of what where happening in the former regime, therefore this regime deserve to go because they don’t understand how to manage the country.”
Martin, a former presidential hopeful in the 2011 presidential election stated it’s mandatory in the Constitution for every president to go once on a tour but making it for 30days is “total abuse of office and waste of resources,” stressing that in previous year’s government tours normally don’t last for more than two weeks.
“This tour is political and the theme is that they are using this political tour that started in 2020 to prepare themselves for 2021, so is a total abuse of office because the use of resources alone in terms of money is more than 30million dalasi.
Gambians should protest against the blocking of traffic because president should use clear road, but using the inner city road is a total dishearten for Gambians. Also closing the road for five hours delayed businesses are very painful. If these attitudes are to continue Gambians will stand up to make sure that its stops,” Martin pointed out.
