Ex-minister for Agriculture and a key figure of the opposition People’s Progressive Party (PPP) has said throughout his 22 years of opposing former President Yahya Jammeh that he doesn’t hate him. But he hates his system of ruling the nation.
Furthermore, he said he gave ex- President Jammeh cash to transport his father’s dead body to Kanilai for burial.
Honorable Omar A Jallow commonly known as OJ said: “I don’t hate him because he was my friend and a son to me because when his father passed away, he, Jammeh came to me, I gave him a car, money and assigned a delegation to go with him to go and bury his father,” OJ added.
He continued: “I didn’t against him for anything but I was against him on how he was violating the rights of the people.”
He however urged the nation’s youths not to be used by any politicians to ignite violence in the upcoming presidential elections – saying “let no person be bigger in your eyes than your country and let no political party be bigger in your eyes than your country.”
