Kerr Omar Saine Foundation Health Caravan Saturday provide free medical caravan to Kerr Omar Saine in Jokadou and its environment in North Bank Region to strengthen access to health for all.
The outreach program was the first of its kind to be provided to the communities.
The association thanked Ministry of Health for its support in strengthens health care services in the country.
Dr. Salifu Gaye of ESTH noted that prevention is keys and therefore called on the population to always seek and adhere to advice of the health care personnel. He also called on women within reproductive age to value regular consultation with nurses and doctors on time, to help prevent infection and treatment.
He advised women to value early booking for antenatal care during pregnancy and ensure all appointment are respected, as clinic and hospital is important to avoid complications.
Matty Saine Chairperson of the Foundation reflected on their past activities which include amont of D200,000 the foundation spent on COVID-19 emergency food aid and sanitary materials to the community of Kerr Omar Saine.
In a bid to fight COVID-19, she added that the Foundation provided borehole to help address the growing needs of the community in term of water. She noted that the caravan treatment was supported by the Diaspora family in USA and assured that the caravan service will now be annual activity.
Madam Saine disclosed that plan is in place to provide community ambulance to facilitate transportation of sick and pregnant women to the nearest health facility for treatment.
Alhaji Modoulamin Cham community leader, alkalo Alhaji Mustapha Saine, Abdoulie Gassama team leader Kerr Omar Saine Foundation medical team, among others made remarks and commended Kerr Omar Saine Foundation for the wonderful gestures.
