Lawmaker says Barrow’s 2017 ‘comment’ about Foni still fresh in memories

Kansala National Assembly member has said The Gambian leader Adama Barrow’s comment about Foni in 2017 is still fresh in their memories.

Speaking to Star FM Radio, MP for Foni Kansala Honorable Musa Amul Nyassi made audience to understand that their meetings in Foni speaks volume “words need to be checked especially a leader must know what to say.”

“I can remember his first tour when the coalition is in unity, there was an address made by President Barrow in Foni that’s still fresh in the memories of Foni people. He said Foni people should know that they cannot make a leader win election,” he added.

He continued: “That is still fresh in our memories – he said Foni people should know that they cannot make a leader win election in this country. Thank God as far as Foni people cannot make a leader win an election and they are powerless people fine that’s your analysis and we the Foni people know what we know.”

Therefore, “I am urging Gambians to unite in the name of peace and progress of the country. We will disagree but at the end we are all Gambians. Let’s learn from other nation’s mistakes in order to avoid making mistakes but if we want to learn from our mistakes it will take long before we learn,” Honorable Nyassi said.

The Gambians will head to the polls on 4th December to elect a new President – in which President Adama Barrow will face challenge from multiple political parties who would want to unseat him.
