Alhagi Kinteh, better known as Wuyeh Kinteh a businessman has strongly warned the government against any attempt to lockdown the nation in the name of second wave of coronavirus will lead to human catastroph
Rumors of second phase of easing convid-19 lockdown is making round round that President Adama Barrow is planning to impose a coronavirus lockdown after launching his National People’s Party – which got officially launched on Saturday.
In an interview with The Voice, Kinteh said: “if the government wants to impose lockdown, they should be very mindful if not they will end up crashing with people.”
He said despite disease is still around “we cannot run away from it and or at the end we go in to hunger strike.”
He urged the government to place strategic plans that will help sustain people at home peacefully if they want to impose any lockdown.
“During the first lockdown almost one month some of us were not allow to operate our business which has affect us a lot. The government received aid from the international bodies during the country’s first wave of covid-19 meant to help the people but no businessmen receive support from the government,” he said.
“This will affect us a lot if the government wants to impose lockdown after what we encountered during the lockdown of the first wave of corona virus. We will find it difficult to feed our family much more the shop rent,” Sibou Sillah, a businessman also said.
He added: “The support given by the government was not sufficient enough to feed one’s family during the lockdown. We are tired of this lockdown.”
According to him, his entire cements end up getting try as a result of the lockdown after spending lot of money to start that business and this has led him to shifting his business while he urged government to come up with plans that will sustain people during the period of the lockdown.
Unus Jakana also urged the government not impose a lockdown.
