Police arrest two over assault on Sierra Leonean man

Following an assault melted on Ousman Camara, a Sierra Leonean man, Police have arrested and charged two men in the names of Dominic Mendy and Abdourahman Sey both Gambians for the assault carried out on the man on 1st February.

But the charges are unclear – as it has not been stipulated by the police.

Accroding to police, Ousman Camara was invited to the Police Station, interviewed and taken to the Serrekunda General Hospital for medical examination where he was treated and discharged.

“Investigations led to the arrest of one Dominic Mendy and Abdourahman Sey both Gambian nationals. Further investigations into the matter revealed that Ousman Camara assaulted a lady in the name of Fatou Badjie which resulted to his attack by Dominic Mendy and Abdourahman Sey. Ousman Camara (James), AbdourahmanSey and Dominic Mendy are all charged accordingly and appropriate actions will follow.

“In a separate development, The Office of The Inspector General of Police is pleased to announce that it has arrested the taxi driver whose number was in circulation for allegedly stealing sheep and goats around Tujereng. The suspect is currently helping the Police in their investigations. The Inspector General’s Office commends the public for timely sharing of the information leading to the arrest of the suspect. Together we can fight crime and therefore the cooperation and partnership of the public is highly solicited,” Police said.
