Ambassadors of Serbia and Pakistan on Thursday presented their Letters of Credence to the Gambian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mamadou Tangara.
Receiving the letters, Tangara expressed delight at the fact that this is the first time an Ambassador of Serbia is accredited to The Gambia.
He assured Ambassador Djura Likar that The Gambia would continue supporting Serbia at a multilateral level, noting that cooperation in areas of mutual interest to both countries would be taken to greater heights.
For his part, Ambassador Likar thanked the Government of The Gambia for the support it has given to Serbia, especially with the support of its candidature to the position of Executive Council at UNESCO.
They also discussed the signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), parliamentary and economic cooperation between The Gambia and Serbia.
Presenting his letter, the Pakistani High Commissioner, Dr. Ali Ahmed Arain, discussed the long historical relations between The Gambia and Pakistan.
Minister Tanagar informed the High Commissioner that The Gambia highly values and treasures its relations with Pakistan. He assured Arain of the Government of The Gambia’s full cooperation and support at all times.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed issues of Gambia–Pakistan bilateral relations in various spheres, including the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and also the building of a Data Management System which will greatly help the Gambian Government in data keeping.
