Governor Lamin Saidykhan and Chief Momodou Chatty Cham Thursday visited the construction site of the ongoing Hakalang Road project funded by the government of The Gambia under the dynamic leadership of President Adama Barrow.
The governor and his envoy also had discussions with civil engineer and Project Manager of CSE Company during the visit.
Governor Lamin Saidykhan described the site visit as important, noting that government attaches high premium on 84 kilometres stretch from Buniadou via Albreda to Kuntair and from Albreda to Bangali.
He said the road construction camp at Bafuloto and the works is expected to be completed by March 2021 according to the site civil engineer, Ndeye Ngone Sarr of CSE.
The governor’s meeting with the CSE Manager was held at Buniadou and was revealed at the meeting that all plans are in place to complete the first phase of the road from Buniadou to Albreda and Albreda to Bangali before December 2021.
Chief Momodou Chatty Cham of Upper Nuimi said the construction of road by President Adama Barrow is in fulfillment of his campaign promises and noted that it would transform the lives and livelihood development. The Upper Nuimi chief assured of their fullest support to the project and thanks CSE for hiring Gambians in executing the project.
Both authorities expressed satisfaction on rate of works and reassured of their commitment and support.
