Grief grips residents of Nyamina Kudang after a 56-year-old Bambo Darboe’s lifeless body was found somewhere in the village. This is sparking fear and concern among villagers, as they said this is the third of such heart-breaking incidents in the district.
Police have launched an investigation into the matter and called on the public to support the investigation by volunteering and give information on conditions of anonymity.
Police spokesman Lamin Njie said: “We can confirm the incident of suspected murder of 56-year-old Bambo Darboe at Nyamina Kudang Village in the Central River Region. The body was discovered in the early hours of Wednesday, 24th February 2021.”
“An investigation has been immediately opened into the matter. Members of the public who wish to support the investigation by volunteering information on conditions of anonymity are encouraged to do so,” he added.
Meanwhile, lawmaker for Niamina East constituency, Omar Ceesay called for investigation into the matter, saying “this is worrying not only to the people of Kudang but Niamina at large as the one doing this deliberate murdering is yet to be known and for what reason.
“I am calling on the government especially the office of the IGP to establish and investigative team to investigate who is responsible for the killing of these individuals,” he added.
