United Democratic Party has suspended its grand fundraising programme till 22nd May due to government ban on public gatherings in a bid to curb spread of coronavirus.
UDP cancelled its panned fundraising programme after government issued ban on public gatherings like political events and musical jamboree, which will take effect on 8th March.
“Due to the advice that was given on the current situation, UDP has taken the responsible decision to postpone its well-organized fundraising event until after the Christians lent period and after the Muslim Ramadan and we reschedule it to Saturday May 22nd”, Lawyer Ousianu Darboe, leader and secretary general of UDP said.
He expressed his disappointment from the government for the delay of nationwide ban on public gatherings and called for an immediate implementation of the ban.
