UTG graduates 973

University of The Gambia over the weekend graduated 973 students from different field of studies with Bachelor’s degree, post graduate degree, and PHD holders. The graduation marked the 13th convocation ceremony of the nation’s highest learning institution, held at Qcity, Bijilo.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, the UTG chancellor, President Adama Barrow expressed joy on the ceremony and commended the graduates and their lecturers.

“We are the pride of the nation today because the ceremony signifies progress and underscores our commitment in educating our young men and women. The convocation signals hope and despite the valuation of many youths, who will start to uplift themselves, support their families and contribute to nation development by giving careers and signed academy discipline and principles,” he said.

He said to the graduands that they have completed an important phase of their life, “now is the time to begin the next phase truly is a gift on what you know and apply skills where necessary.”

The Chancellor therefore urged the graduands not to forget their books saying “knowledge you have remember that learning never (end). May Almighty Allah continue to bless the nation.”

Dr Momodou Lamin Tarro said “we are confident that the next time we gather for a graduation it will be at our own convocation venue, at Databanks Banting Campus.

Prof. Muhammad M.O. Kah former vice chancellor of the University of The Gambia urged every each and every one of the graduands to dream big as they are turning the pages from graduating from the UTG. Adding that is not the same as writing the next chapter turning.
