Friday fatal car accident occurred around 9 pm between Suwareh Kunda and Kinteh Kunda Janneh Ya along Kerewan Farafenni Highway has claimed lives of four people. It was relayed that 2 men and 1 female died on spot while another lady referred to Farafenni General Hospital by Kerewan Health Centre also died.
According to eyewitnesses, the deceased were coming from Kerewan at night after milling coos in preparation for a naming ceremony.
The vehicle registration number BJL 1556 S hit a donkey cart carrying four people’s and donkey all died and this occurred at over 100 meters away from the highway.
However, it has become a common practice for horse and donkey carts to ply on the highway without any reflectors and torchlight at night. The deceased were from Makalo Kunda, Suso Kunda and Balajo Kunda of Badibou Saaba in North Bank Region and they were all laid to rest at 2pm on Saturday.
It was described by people as the worst so far in 2021. The driver is detained at Kerewan Police Station.
