The Gambia Democratic Congress Leader has called on Gambians to take back their country in order to be free from man-made uncertainty. He made this remark at the Saturday congress held in Farafenni, North Bank Region
According to him, till today The Gambia continuing to face unprecedented challenges rooted in bad governance, corruption and as well as a continuing marginalization of the masses especially the women and young people from the national scheme of events.
“It is evident that our people are currently facing uncertain times which make an interesting point that the leadership has failed to abide by the peoples will. Therefore, GDC (hereby) call on Gambians to take back their country in order to be free from man-made uncertainty we are all facing today. This uncertainty is borne out of corruption and bad governance.”
He stated that “as the December (presidential) election approach, let’s all stand together on this most important political battlefield. I am ready to fight and I hope you are ready to fight so that we can heralded the dawn of a new era for our nation by regaining what belongs to all of us,” he urged the party sympathisers.
He went on that it is time for the nation to transform itself into a mighty force that can stand tall and firm in the region. “Achieving what one may call Gambian dream would be no walk in the park it will take more than a drum beating and a gong clanging to get there. We need to tighten our belts and face the exploiters and saboteurs of our hard-earned democracy who are presently merely loitering about the corridors of power in the expense of Gambian tax-payers money”, he added.
However, “it has been through hardship and adversity but remain indomitable and insurmountable. Gambian people are a great people, they are industrious and brave and they never pause in pursuit of progress,” he praised Gambians.
Therefore, “we must unite to develop our nation or we perish and we must remain firm as a rock in our mission to salvage our people”, he concluded.
