In a remarkable event, scores of supporters of the National People’s Party (NPP) on Saturday has cross carpeted to the Gambia Democratic Congress (GDC) party during the party’s congress held in Farafenni, North Bank Region.
As unveiled 122 female and 109 male from Sabasanjal, and 56 people from Kembujeh Kutajungbulo cross-carpeted to GDC party as they realized that the only party to take the country to the promise land is no other than Gambia Democratic Congress (GDC).
Sulayman Marena, Chairman of Kembujeh KutaJungbulo among the cross carpeted people said: They have been working with Mamma Kandeh for a longtime and they benefitted a lot from him more than the former and the present government.
He outlined some of their benefits from GDC saying it is GDC that dug a borehole in their ‘Kabilo’ and that alone is a mobilization and a commitment to the GDC government.
“We are going to support Mamma Kandeh to victory and we are sure that he is going to win this upcoming December 4 presidential election because our vote is for him. We have no doubt that he will go to State House come December 4th,” he expressed confidence.
He added that their ‘kabilo’ is having more than 1000 people and it is certain, according to him, they will mobilize them to cross carpet to GDC “because GDC is their heart.”
However, Hon Musa Njie Deputy National Mobilizer and Ablie Cham, also cross carpeted to GDC saying it was a mistake for them to leave the party but they are back and willing to work with GDC to achieve victory in the upcoming presidential election.
