Dr Jonathan hopes positive result in draft mediation

Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, a man leading a mediation process in the rejected draft constitution, is hoping for a positive result, as he flew back to the country on Monday to continue mediation in the draft document.

A chunk of the nation’s members of the National Assembly last year voted against the draft constitution, following two years of tedious work.

“Former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Dr Goodluck Jonathan, today paid a courtesy call on His Excellency, President Adama Barrow in continuation of his consultations with various stakeholders on the new Draft Constitution 2020.

“His Excellency, Mr. Jonathan expressed optimism that the consultations with the political parties a sequel to the Abuja meeting would yield positive results,” state house said.

He said that the objective is to get a new constitution for the Gambia and for the country to move forward.
