Reading of report of the select committee on health women, children disaster on women’s Amendment Bill 2020 has been scheduled for third reading at the National Assembly.
Honorable Ousman Sillah, chairperson of the committee said, it would therefore not be an exaggeration in the process, as stakeholders, in the promotion and production of rights of women and children are concerned.
According to him, they provide the evidence of information needed for inclusion in the amendment bill.
Honorable Sillah added that in accordance with standing order 68 (2), 69(1) and (3) (b), the select committee was tasked to review and consult the report to the plenary.
He recognised the support of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary education (MOBSE) in the proposed amendment and scholarships, bursaries and such other allocations, a minimum of fifty percent is reserved for women among eligible candidates.
He said Ministry of Finance and Economic affairs, in a written submit on 5(2) (a) states that it agrees with this protocol amendment as women are either under employed or neglected.
