Fulbeh Africa International discusses policies with partners

Fulbeh Africa International (FA) has held a day-long consultation meeting with partners associations in The Gambia to discuss policies and agenda with its partners, held in a local hotel.

Speaking at the conference Alieu Sowe, president for Fulbeh Africa (FA), said: : “FA is committed to work with all partner associations that aim to promote the Fulani cultural heritage. Adding that, “We will never be involved into any form of politics because this organization aims to promoting our culture and reunite Fulas”

He highlighted the importance of FA annual anniversary, saying the annual event meant to revive the Fulani cultural heritage, reunite Fulas as well as make people to understand its culture, adding FA annual anniversary also enable people from different countries to network for a common interest.

“During the last FA anniversary international participants have networked and agreed to have business deal with potential business partners within Senegambia”, he said.

Amie Bah, Vice-President for Fulbe Africa added that, anytime the organization has a meeting they always emphasize that FA will never compromise with politics, because politics is a major factor for division in the society.

“If someone establishes an organization that aims to reunite people, and involve into politics there will be a problem, because people have different political opinions which must divide that organization. Therefore, we will not entertain any form of politic in this organization,” she said.

Momodou Sowe, secretary general for FA gave an overview activity of the organization over the years saying it has implemented various activities since its formation, which includes teaching its members to understand the Fulani scripts, organize seminar for journalists, pay a courtesy call to the Tourism and Culture ministry informing it their effort to revive the Fulani culture.

FA also met Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (MOBSE) officials mainly to commend it for introducing national languages in the curriculum. FA is also working with associations from diverse ethnic group to reinforce the unity and cooperation among Gambians. Adding that all sister organizations present in the consultation meeting have commended FA for its efforts in promoting the Fulani culture,” he said.
