Rotaract club has pledged to give out more educational support to underprivileged people as the club continues to offer humanitarian support in various sectors including health in the country.

The club has also kicked off cancer awareness campaign where they are meeting doctors and nurses to help be part of the sensitization as the primary healthcare officials.

Hatab Saidy, president of Rotaract said: ”we help our communities in arrears of education like last time we donate learning materials to the Nursery and Primary school of Fajara Barrack. We had also organized several events like blood drive that was also done in partnership with the military personnel which was geared towards preventing maternal death.”

”As an association we come together as a group of young people from different works of life, we come together put our own resources and then look at people who are able to help people in a form of materials then we give this back to the society,” he added.

“The primary goal of Rotaract is to build friendship that is why they have a slogan: fellowship through service and we come together build relationship and serve their communities,” he said.

He said that they are studying their communities to look at what the community really needs and see how they as an association can really help meet those needs.

“We are looking up for a better Gambia where young people are more engage in voluntary services and those young people should understand that it is not all about what you as a person gets but you should think about your society the people around you what you give to the society because this is what keeps you going,” he continued.
