West Africa Insurance Institute and ECOWAS Brown Card Bureau in collaboration with the Gambia Police Force Friday concluded a five- day insurance training program for the Gambia Police.
The weeklong training program held at West Africa Insurance Institute, Kotu was attended by different senior officials.
Speaking at the closing event of the training, the Deputy IGP Ebrima Bah, expressed gratitude to the insurance institute for the collaboration, coordination and for able to bring together relevant stakeholders to attend the training.
Adding that such training will continue in other to keep the legacy of the late IGP alive while assured the institute of his office maximum collaboration.
He said the relationship between the police and insurance companies is equal but not all understand the work of the police and the work of an insurance company.
Dawda Sarge, Chairman National Bureau ECOWAS Brown Card highlighted on the purpose and important impact as regarding the insurance activities which entail risk covering and protection.
The Chairman noted this kind of training will always allow healthy conversations that will deliver better experience “for our people.”
In addition, Mr Sarge affirmed that the program also gives another opportunity to correct some of the misconceptions between them and the police. “We can change the narrative so that together we can deliver as expected. Our ties must also be stronger but we can only do that when we are engage”, he said.
