At the closing of the development of the National Roadmap for the Covid-19, the World Health Organisation representative in The Gambia has stated that Covid-19 vaccines are very much welcome saying it serves as traditional tools and manage the tools to fight the disease.
According to Dr Desta Tironeh, as been said repeatedly, he said people have to completely doing what is expected by taking the Covid-19 measures seriously through “washing hands under running water, wearing facemask,” among other measures while noted that the Covid-19 vaccines are giving hope.
Speaking at the ceremony also was Lamin Dampha, permanent secretary at the Ministry of Health explained that the event is not to only enhance the ability of what they are doing on Covid-19 but to ensure they have the necessary structure and well prepare for emergency “even beyond Covid-19.”
The Honorable Minister of Health, Dr Momodou Lamin Samateh, said they have started an activation and there is need to take a break to evaluate it to know that what they are doing is right for successful respond.
He dilated on the importance of knowing where they have done better and not as they have come a long way in combating the Covid-19.
He pointed out some of their challenges in response to Covid-19, this includes, resources issues and getting it on time noting that quite number of resources are needed for the actual implementation.
