ST reaches out to Islamic schools with bags of rice

One of the Gambian leading Musicians, ST, whose real name is Sanna Singhateh has reached out to Islamic boarding schools through his foundation dubbed ST Foundation with bags of rice and gallons of cooking oil as part of his Ramadan support to Gambian communities.

The food help has been widely welcomed among his fans who praised the musician for his goodwill support to needy Gambians and non-Gambians. The Afro-Manding singer, whose latest album hit a million views on YouTube, has been giving similar supports for the past years.

Speaking to reporters, ST said he and his team deemed it necessary to give back to the communities saying because he was lifted up through the support of the people whom he said he cannot forget to give back to them at time of his rising.

“We are in Ramadan and we thought it is necessary to reach out to the Madarassas and Islamic boarding schools around the country to give our support to them,” he said.

He urged for unity in the country saying “The Gambia belong to all of us” and urged fellows privilege Gambians to give support to the needy people. He also commended his fans that he described as key figures to his triumph in music.

Comedian Alhagie Muhammed Darboe described ST as a humble and kind individual who often gives help to people around the country and described the gesture as big and great.

“I know the type of person he is, he used to give supports which are different from this kind and people like us are the one who will say that.  important of supporting your own has once been manifested again by ST because when you give it to your own, they bring it back to the society and this is what he has manifested. ST has been demonstrating such,” he said.

He urged Gambians in the diaspora to give support to the ST Foundation in what he called in a bid to give more support to The Gambians.

Ismaila Fadera, who goes by the pen name D’Saint, said caring and sharing is part of the musician attitude and career, adding he gives support to the people always.

“I pray to God to keep blessing ST. And this foundation is here to stay because he is not doing music for the sake of doing music,” he said.

Ally Wally also echoed praises on the musician for his goodwill support to people especially needy people in this holy month of Ramadan.
