Modou Mbai has pleaded not guilty to a common assault offence pressed against him on Wednesday when he appeared before the Kanifing Magistrate Court presided over by Magistrate Mam Samba Jallow.
According to statement of his offence, he was charged with common assault contrary to the criminal code cap 227 of the criminal code cap 10:01 volume 111 revised law of The Gambia 2009.
Reading the particulars of his offence, Modou Mbai on or about the 18th day of March 2021 at Westfield near Kanifing Magistrate’s Court, in the Kanifing Municipality of the Republic of The Gambia, he assaulted one Musa Ousainou Yali Bachilly by knocking him with his hands all over his body and there by committed an offence.
When the charged sheet was read to him he pleaded not guilty of the charge. The Magistrate granted him bail in the sum of D10,000 with one Gambian surety who should submit his or her ID card with court registrar .
Sergeant 3577 Kebbeh for represented the IGP while the accused was unrepresented, as the case was adjourned to the 29th of April 2021.
