Alagie Jawara Tasks UDP Leader to reveal his intelligent source

Lawmaker for Lower Baddibu, Honorable Alagie Jawara has challenged UDP leader Ousainu Darboe to reveal his intelligent source, citing the police should have called him (Lawyer Darboe) for questioning over plot allegation.

Mr Jawara who was speaking to The Fatu Network a day after Mr Darboe told reporters: “I had intelligence report that I should advise Momodou Sabally, Ebrima Dibba, Karafa Sonko, Honourable Saho, Yakumba Jaiteh and myself…we should be very careful where we park our vehicle, (that) even we take our vehicle to car wash we must make sure that somebody sits in the vehicle because the scheme now particularly me, is to plant incriminating materials on us. And for Sabally, Saho, Yakumba to silence them and to disqualify me.”

“I will say one thing the party leader of the UDP one way or the other is trying to incite with the work of the intelligent officers saying they have intelligent report…meaning those intelligent officers are undermining the state they are serving,” Honorable Jawara argued.

“…From who? if I am the IGP today I will call him (Darboe) and question him (about] who informed him about that [plot]. That’s what should do. Because if you say we have an intelligent report that this will be brought to the UDP. Who gave you that report? That means is an intelligent officer and that intelligent [officer] should always brief their superiors and their superiors brief the executive,” he emphasised.

Meanwhile, he said United Democratic Party should have taken responsibility on impoundment of their vehicle and allowed the police to do their independent investigation.

“If I am him [Darboe] what I would do is I will come out to take the responsibility as a leader. We should not run away from responsibility because he is the leader of the party. I would take responsibility that yes is our vehicle but we will allow the police to their investigation and UDP will not run away from this hence what is written on the vehicle is UDP,” he said.
