CEDAG gives furniture, learning materials to Daru Foday Ba Lower Basic School

Child and Environmental Development Association the Gambia CEDAG, an with support from Cross Road Foundation on Friday presented furniture, stationery and clothes to Daru Foday Ba Lower Basic School in Jokadou.

The support is expected to contribute advancement of educational development of children. Includes reading books, clothing for mother’s club, tables and chairs.

Momodou Cham Regional Education Director at Regional Education Directorate Region 3 has underscored the MOBSE commitment to partner with institutions and organizations in advancing education for all.

He noted that the handing over of educational materials, furniture and clothing for mother’s club demonstrated commitment to the school, adding that the support from CEDAG would contribute to the attainment of quality education and assured of regional office and school management would ensure proper upkeep of materials.

He commended MRC HOLLAND FOUNDATION for construction of standard classrooms, staff quarter and call on parents to enroll their children and caution parents to desist and forced marriage as it is against the law

He expressed joy of partnering with CEDAG through government commitment by creating conducive work environment.

“MoBSE value the important of providing quality education and thanks school management and Committee for their invaluable support to education as government cannot do all,” he said.

Alagie Kujabi, head teacher of Daru Foday Ba Lower Basic School lauded the management of Region Education Directorate for approval of Lower Basic School and hailed CEDAG for the provision of teaching and learning.

He also commended the community for their support to education and however expressed dismay on some parents taking away children to protect their gardens from stray animals.

Meanwhile, Modoulamin Jobe of CEDAG has underscored the important the organization attached to education and their it mandate is to provide child rights issues and assured of their continue support to the community of Daru Foday Ba.

He noted that protection of children is key to advance in promoting social welfare and wellbeing for families, to bring about social fairness in providing space.

Kebba Barrow School Management Committee SMC Chairman thanks the community for the establishment of community school and noted that the support from CEDAG and Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education MoBSE has contributed to this great achievement for upgrading the school.

Suwareh Ceesay, an adviser to Mother Club, said that CEDAG contributed to provision of furniture and uniforms. She noted that the support was extended to women in the form of coos milling machine to help alleviate drudgery.
