Kebba Manneh and Ousman Ceesay on Thursday appeared before the Kanifing Magistrate court presided over by magistrate Mam Samba Jallow for three counts of offence which included conspiracy to commit felony, burglary and stealing
Kebba Manneh and Ousman Ceesay on 29th March, 2021 in Bakau New Town and around 5:00am upwards conspired among themselves with intent to commit felony as they broke and entered into a dwelling house of Majula Konteh whereby they stole one black and red Bluetooth speaker mark valued D1,200 and more mobile phone mark Nokia valued D1500 all total D2,700 all properties of Majula Konteh.
Giving account of the stealing, police witness, Manjula Konteh who recognized and remembered the event said she was at home when the event took place at around 4am to 5am.
According to her, her younger sister called Isatou woke her up to informed her that there were thieves in the house threatening to kill if she shout and they were with knives, and it was then she (Manjula) ran to sought for help but seeing two boys jumping over the fence.
She continued in her narration that her neighbours came to help and they searched the children’s room and sitting room but noticed that the room has been damaged while the door was broken too.
“When I was taking the children to school, I met my neighbor and I told her about the incident she advised her to go to Bakau police station because thieves entered in her co-worker house, too. While reaching the Bakau Police Station, I met the accused persons there,” she narrated.
Further to that, she said her sister who accompanied her to the Bakau police station recognized them by their clothes which they were wearing – a black trouser and T-shirt. However, when the Bluetooth speaker and the Nokia mobile phone recovered from them were shown to her in the court she confirmed that they were are stolen properties.
Meanwhile, the two accused persons denied the charges and what the witness has said and the case was adjourned till 15th June 2021.
