Aji Yam Secka laughs at Barrow bravery remark

UDP deputy leader Aji Yam Secka has said President Adama Barrow had no courage as she scoffed when she said President Adama Barrow suffered from ‘glossophobia’ during his first public speech as UDP rummaged for a new leader after Darboe was put away.

UDP suffered human losses after most of the party’s leaders were incarcerated in 2016 by the then dictator Yahya Jammeh.

As the search for a new leader got underway, UDP held a rally in Bundung where President Adama Barrow spoke.

She made this remarks at UDP’s All Badibu meeting in Njaba Kunda, as streamed by Camaraba Official: “When Adama Barrow was speaking, he was trembling.

“When he finished speaking, he said to me ‘Aunty Yam how was my speech?’ I told him ‘I graded you 10 because you didn’t say anything’. I told him ‘you’re speaking and trembling and it’s you was choosing to lead’.

“Adama had no courage. And that’s why when he said he’s bold, I laugh. It’s us who gave you courage.”

Meanwhile, she said UDP leader Ousainou Darboe will emerge winner of the December 4 presidential election, according to his closest aide.

UDP deputy leader Aji Yam Secka believes Darboe will pip his rivals to the post in the crucial poll but urged Gambians to repay Mr Darboe.

“You will register and on December 4, you wake up early and join the queue to fill Ousainou Darboe’s box. And on the 5th of December, we will all hear Ousainou Darboe has won.”

Yam Secka had in an interview with Paradise TV disclosed her ‘repay Darboe’ comments were what triggered the souring of her relations with President Barrow.

“For me, Adama Barrow is angry at me but it turns out I’m angrier at him,” Yam Secka said.
