200 Ruminant Animals Presented To 50 People With Disability

Two hundred small ruminant animals have been shared among fifty people with disability in Lower Badibou and Jokadou districts during a presentation held at Jokadou, Dasilami and Njawara Agricultural Training Centre last weekend.

The donation was made by Njawara Agricultural Training Centre NATC in partnership with Action Against Hunger (AAH) through Green Economy dubbed Shaping a Sustainable Future Through Joint Action.

Speaking prior the presentation of the ruminant animals to the beneficiaries, Mama Manneh Executive Director of Njawara Agricultural Training Centre, said: “the presentation of small ruminants to disable members was based on their requests.”

He said the support was funded by European Union and Al Thani Fund in Qatar and we are sure that the support would strengthen capacity of vulnerable families, to contribute and boost human rights.

He thanked Disable Association in NBR for their support and collaboration in the implementation of small ruminants and horticulture in boosting income.

Musa Kanteh Deputy Governor of NBR hailed Njawara Agricultural Training Centre and partners for their support to humanity.

He said the support to disable persons has demonstrated their commitment and respect to fundamental human rights.

Salifu Bagayoko President of Disable Association in NBR said the support would strengthen disable people’s and asserted that it would contribute to boost their dignity and respect in society, while called on beneficiaries to be proactive and ensure proper management of their animals.

Beneficiaries Horoja Sarge of Tawakaltu, Lasana Jobe of Kinteh Kunda JannehYa, Kaba Sisay of Kerewan in Lower Badibou and Haddy Joof of Munyagen, Awa Manneh grade 5 student of Dasilami and Alasan Trawally grade 5 students of Kisimajaw lauded Njawara Agricultural Training Centre and thanked the donors for the support, noting that it would contribute to educational development and contribute to reduction of violence against disabled person in society.
