A Gambian prominent human rights lawyer has sulkily blamed President Adama Barrow and opposition United Democratic Party (UDP) Ousainou Darboe for the failure of government while he urged Gambians to teach both lesson come December 4.
Lawyer Assan Martin, who visited The Voice on Friday, said in an interview that President Barrow and former Vice President Darboe are not consistent in their worlds because they “says this today and tomorrow they will say that and as well with in fights.”
He expressed that the two men have distracted Gambia’s politics because their way of doing business and things is hindering the country’s democracy.
“President Barrow and Mr. Darboe don’t show principle of leadership and example of quality leadership, they are principle-less because they say this today and tomorrow they say that so it’s selfish interest that come between both of them,” Martin told The Voice.
He stressed that Gambians have learnt their lesson but quickly called on Gambians to teach President Barrow and the former Vice President Darboe lesson in December poll, but added that Gambians need a coalition that will address the country’s problems.
According to him problems of Gambia is much Gambians are living in destitute and poor infrastructure that need a good leadership to address them and move the country forward.
Martin also revealed that alliance for the solution is in the making and talks are ongoing with some political parties for a new way of founding an alliance and this will be in the next few weeks.
He pointed out in the on-going discussion of all parties saying is it will help rebuild institutions and create jobs.
