Jerreh Jatta, alkalo of Batukunda village has sensitized residents of his village on process and requirement to get voter’s card through attestation.
He called on his colleagues to emulate steps taken by him to help avoid misunderstanding and problems amid the voter registration process in the country.
“There is enough time to be taken in sensitizing the villages on the Significance of voter registration towards national development,” Jerreh said.
He also called on the villagers to come forward in requesting for attestation to be qualified in attaining the voter’s card.
“I have personally visited different compounds to sensitize them on procedures of getting attestation and voter’s card. I therefore, called on my fellow Alkalos to conduct more sensitization programs because getting voter card qualifies you to vote in the upcoming elections,” he added.
Also, he called on the government in providing access to clean water for his villagers. Added hospitals are also a major constraint in his locality.
Meanwhile, Ms. Ma Nyima Fatty, also expressed gratitude to Alkalo Jerreh Jatta for his tireless efforts in sensitizing the masses on the significance of voter registration, and therefore, advised all villagers to come out in their large numbers and support the Alkalo by registering.
Lamin Ceesay, residence of Batokunku village, bemoaned that Mr. Jatta has divided them into different groups in other to disseminate information about voter registration. Adding that the Alkalo also asked them to work hand in glove in fetching a large number of people register.
“Alkalo did a great effort to make sure that a large number of citizens are registered, and we the villagers are also working hard-in-hand ensuring that each and every eligible person gets registered because our vote is our voice,” Lamin said.
