President Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chinese President on Tuesday stated clear that all countries and nations are equally entitled to development opportunities and rights to development.
President Jinping stated this in his speech as he addressed leaders of over 500 world political parties that participated in the CPC and World Political Parties Summit via online video link from Beijing.
The CPC and World Political Parties Summit was held after the CPC concluded a grand ceremony for its centennial held on Thursday, 1st July.
In his address he called world party leaders to uphold multilateralism, seek cooperation in addressing current challenges that humanity faces and pursue development saying “development is not the exclusive privilege of a few, and any attempt to thwart other country’s development is not welcome, and will end up in vain.”
Gathering at the Embassy of People’s Republic of China in The Gambia to attend the summit via online video link on Tuesday were representatives of political parties in The Gambia, officials of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in The Gambia and members press.
President Xi Jinping disclosed further that the CPC is willing to contribute more Chinese solutions and Chinese strength to the poverty reduction process worldwide; and China will spare no effort to support international cooperation against Covid-19.
After his address which took about half an hour, over score of world presidents, prime ministers and party leaders delivered speeches and congratulated the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chinese President on the centennial celebration.
His Excellency Ma Jianchun, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in The Gambia in an interview described the summit as very important and multilateral diplomatic event.
He said the summit allowed Communist Party of China and other political parties around the world to exchange their experiences in State governance, administration and jointly with the challenges brought by changes in the past century and also the pandemic, covid-19.
The speech of the president touched different areas which include promote of peace and development in the world and also promoting and building of future for mankind.
He said they are happy to invite representatives of the Gambian parties in the like of of NPP and UDP to attend the summit “since the two parties have already established a contacted relationship with Communist Party of China so it is a good chance for The Gambia political parties to have deep discussion of this event.”
