CA pleads humanitarian support for windstorm victims

The Citizens’ Alliance, an opposition party, has pleaded for humanitarian support for families affected by windstorm after it held a tour to affected households in Brikama.

Authorities of the party led by its secretary general Dr Ismaila Ceesay also rolled out humanitarian support to some of the victim families as part of what they called national responsibility.

“In rolling out its humanitarian support, the Citizens’ Alliance in collaboration with officials of the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) unit in Brikama, West Coast Region, visited some ravaged households and victims of the last Wednesday night windstorm within West Coast Region.

“The party extended its sincere sadness to all affected families and further rendered humanitarian support to all the visited affected households and families to help them rehabilitate and restore their valuable loss,” it said in a statement.

“The party strongly share the pains and sufferings that the victims are currently facing, and hereby encourage every person to extend all forms of support to the affected households and families. We wish to thank the NDMA Brikama unit for the guidance and collaboration with us to manifest solidarity with the victims. We pray that Allah grant all those who lost their souls the highest Jannah,” the statement added.

Meanwhile, Dr Ismaila Ceesay was also adopted as honorary father by a women kafoo in Tujereng, Kombo South.

The women association yesterday met with the CA Presidential Candidate in Tujereng to officially accord him the honour. Dr  Ceesay and some members of the party’s National Executive Committee graced the occasion and gratefully thanked the entire women association membership for the gesture

At the event, the association’s President assured the CA entourage of their unconditional willingness to support and work closely with the party.

“By this medium, we wish to kindly thank and extend our warmest appreciation for their selection of our party leader and for the warm reception accorded to him and his team yesterday,” statement concluded.
