Deputy spokesman for former ruling APRC has said 10 vehicles are being returned to the party instead of 7 as reported earlier.
Speaking to a local radio station, Dodou Jah said: “How many vehicles are returned as people are asking me whether that’s the only vehicles returned? I said they returned to the party [APRC] 10 vehicles but only 7 arrived and 3 is on the way coming but all they have returned to the party is 10 vehicles.”
“The vehicles are not brand new – because when we demanded what they took from the party, what the government said is clear and that’s true that they didn’t took brand new vehicles from us and that they cannot give us brand new vehicles,” he added.
According to him, the vehicles are reconditioned and they among the good vehicles saying “in fact is not in The Gambia where they bought the vehicles – but they are being imported and I am sure they have selected good vehicles.”
Meanwhile, he said he doesn’t know what types of vehicles have been returned to the party and that he is also yet to know whether the vehicles arrived to the party’s headquarters.
“To make a decision about APRC stance will soon happen, I am even hopeful that before this month will end, we will say out our stance. I have just received information that seven vehicles have been given and three others are on the way.
“This is why the vehicles have to go to a mechanic for servicing before we will have access to them. This is why we cannot confirm exactly because they are yet to be in our possession. Once we receive them, we will make it public because they belong to the party,” he continued.
He expressed appreciation for the return of the party’s vehicles. “It will be very good news for the party and its followers,” he said.
