He was grateful to the party leader and as well as the surrogates of GAP for the confidence reposed on him to lead the party.
“When I walk into State House in Banjul as a president, I’m deeply conscious that I’ll be taking over the heaviest of responsibilities, not least for the future of our dear motherland. Our plan is to build a stronger Gambia through strategic planning for strong economic growth and infrastructural development by lowering taxes,” he said with confidence.
“More productive investment in the business sector that will create public – private partnership and deliver more jobs with higher wages,” he said and added that they (GAP) have plan “to establish a functional Anti- Corruption Commission (ACC) that will deal with all the related issues in the country.”
According to him, more than half a century corruption is embedded in our public officials and this defeated the country’s progress as a nation.
‘My government will establish youths and sports development-based ministry that will empower the youth and improve the game of sports. GAP-led government under my stewardship will improve and diversify the foreign relations through more effective system. Agriculture system and economic revival are interwoven and GAP will prioritize the modernization of agriculture and sustainable utilization in farms,” he pledged.
