One of the prominent Gambian Imam and Islamic Preacher Bakawsu Fofana, has called on the Gambian President Adama Barrow and his government to expel controversial Tanje Imam, Musa Boto Saidy from the country before November 11, 2021.
He vowed to kill the controversial Imam if The Gambia government failed to do something to discipline him.
Imam Fofana stated that this is not the first time Gambian Muslims have called on the government to take action against the controversial Tanje Imam who is known for insulting Gambian Marabouts and Islamic houses in the country.
However, in an audio that goes viral online, Imam Ba Kawsu Fofana has issued fatwa against the controversial Tanje Imam, disclosing that by 11th November, if The Gambia government failed to deport Musa Boto Saidy back to his native country actions will be taken against him for his insults harped on Islamic Scholars and Majdis houses.
“Marabouts of the country, Mali, Conakry, Bissau, Cassamance and Senegal you have all heard Musa Boto Saidy’s letter. Musa is used to insulting Marabouts and Islamic houses in the country, Gambian citizens have called on him to stop insulting but he is not heeding,” Imam Ba Kawsu Fofana frowned.
He added: ” Adama Barrow you have heard what Musa have told the Marabouts in your country on regarding your recent comments. If you want to get hundreds of his audios insulting Marabouts in this country, they are available ranging from Ba Kawsu, Adama Dalasi, Mustapha Sillah, Karamba Suwaneh including the Sheriffos, Jahankas and even the Marabouts at Touba and it will be better before you quell the fighting you quell the quarrelling,” Ba Kawsu notified President Barrow to take action before November 11.
According to him, Gambians have passed the era of heaping insults to one another but Musa Boto Saidy is still adamant on his insults the controversial Tanje Imam is still enforcing his insults on Marabouts unabated and this cannot continue.
“He said no Marabout can harm him or curse him and neither their charms nor jujus can harm him. (President) Adama Barrow, Musa has never made such statements in any country other than your country insulting Marabouts by taking cover under you,” Imam Ba Kawsu disclosed.
The prominent Imam said no President including Macky Sall will condone such insults from Musa Boto Saidy and allow him to stay in his country neither Guinea Bissau President nor Malian President will allow or condone such insults on Marabouts without taking actions against him.
“Musa has been insulting Marabouts and Muslims in this country by taking cover under you but what i want to tell Adama Barrow is three things. Musa Boto Saidy should stop insulting people, leaves The Gambia or else he will leave the world because no one will dare to insult Marabouts in a country the President heard it and leave him free,” Imam Ba Kawsu argued.
He said all those scholars who used to insult Marabouts have stopped such act, noting that Imam Fatty, Imam Chebbo Cham, Omar Farba Gitteh among others have all stopped insulting Marabouts and elders except Musa Boto Ceesay, a foreign national now settled in The Gambia.
He said Musa Boto Saidy has been taken to police six times for making insults on Marabouts and sacred houses, adding that the controversial Imam of Tanje will not do such insults in Mali, Cassamance or Senegal but only in The Gambia he can do such without repercussions.
Imam Ba Kawsu therefore summed it up that is either Musa Boto Saidy stop insulting the Marabouts and elders, leaves the country or risked his life by 11th November, 2021, a date coinciding with the massacre of fourteen (14) soldiers brutally killed by former President Yahya Jammeh in 1995.
