Kerr Jarja Foundation donates 120 bags of rice, oil to Kerr Jarja Jobe

Kerr Jarja Foundation of Jokadou has donated 120 bags of 50Kg rice and 10 liters gallons of oil worth D275,000 to Kerr Jarja Jobe as part of emergency respond as a result of windstorm.

The donation was spearheaded by Foundation Donation Squad which is a youth-led component to support disaster families.  The presentation was held in Kerr Jarja Jobe in North Bank Region.

Mambouy Gaye Senior Member said the foundation was established to support development needs of the community and described the donation as important in supporting families to mitigate effect of windstorm.

Adama Jimba Jobe DPS Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education alluded to previous speakers that the donation squad was established a year ago and it aimed at complementing Kerr Jarja Foundation in providing development needs. He uses the moment to call on citizens to come forward and pay their contribution. 120 households will benefit from the donation.

He went on to explain that the Foundation has contributed to the rehabilitation of village central mosque and provide borehole to the community of Kerr Jarja Jobe.

Governor Lamin Saidykhan thanked the Foundation for the foresight and noted that this kind of donation is the first of its kind to be undertaken by community-based organization.

He called for closer collaboration and networking in promoting development needs. Governor Saidykhan noted that the formation of donation squad by youths would contribute towards its operations.
Chief Alpha Mariam Khan of Jokadou,  Lamin Saidy Regional Disaster Management Coordinator Alh. Matarr Gaye among others thanked members of the foundation for the generosity.

Councilor Awa Gaye of Kerr Jarja ward, Aja Gass Lowe Women Bureau Focal Point and Mbye Mama Jobe alkalo of Kerr Jarja Jobe expressed delight on the donation and called on youths to support this noble initiative.
